Geta Williams

Mrs. Geta Williams is a veteran educator of 29 years, who is currently employed as a senior teacher with the Ministry of Education.  Trained in Language Arts, she teaches both English Language and Literature at one of the public senior high schools.

Over the years, she has contributed to the educational system in a variety of ways, serving as a Year Head and a facilitator of Language Arts and professional development Workshops.   Mrs. Williams’ expertise in Language Arts has also led her to lend her assistance to both the Technical Cadet Corps and Police Cadet Programmes where she has served as an English teacher.

Most recently, she was privileged to serve on the committee for the revision of the Language Arts Curriculum and the newly revised B.J.C. Literature syllabus. Presently, Mrs. Williams serves as Subject Co-coordinator at her school, an examiner for the B.G.C.S.E. Language Arts Examination, and a part-time English lecturer with The College of the Bahamas’ Continuing Education and Extension Services division. She is also pursuing a graduate degree in Reading.   Mrs. Williams says that teaching is a noble calling that she has been thrilled about and privileged to obey, lo, these 29 years.

Married to Lloyd Williams, they are the parents of three teenaged children.
