Francelia Outten, nee Hanna, has been in the field of education for more than 36 years and has taught at high schools both in Nassau and Freeport. She graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts with an undergraduate degree in French and Spanish and quickly followed this by obtaining her Diploma in Education from The College of The Bahamas/University of the West Indies. More recently, she pursued and obtained her Master of Science degree in Psychology via the distance education program offered at California Coast University.
Francelia enjoys helping people and providing them with a listening ear. As a result, she became an active member of the Crisis Center (formerly The Women’s Crisis Center), volunteering her time and expertise with persons who have been victims of sexual, emotional or physical abuse.
Francelia loves spending time with her two grandchildren, playing racquetball and travelling every opportunity she can. When she’s not travelling, she often finds time to delve into floral arts, another of her hobbies.
Francelia has been the Chairperson of the Foreign Language Department for over 20 years at one of the Bahamas’ leading secondary schools, and has been instrumental in leading countless students to excellent results in the Bahamas General Certificate of Secondary Education examinations.
