Coach Nekeno Demeritte Represents The Bahamas At Jr Pan Am Championships 11/30/2015

Coach Nekeno Demeritte, Temple Christian Elementary School physical education teacher, represented the Bahamas at the eighteenth edition of the Pan American Junior Championships this past summer. The biennial track and field competition for under-20 athletes from the Americas was held from July 31 – August 2, 2015 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Coach Demeritte was the high jump coach.

According to Coach Demeritte, “this was my first time with the Jr. Pan Am team. I was selected based on my work this season with the high jumpers in my club, Extreme Athletics.” An IAAF Level II certified coach, Demeritte noted that “it was an awesome experience because I got to participate with a high caliber of competition, and was able to see kids perform basically on an Olympic level.” He added, “I was in awe most of the time, and was proud to see us in the Bahamas be able to compete with these athletes.” Coach Demeritte stated his desire to focus more on the jumps in the future as he develops his repertoire of coaching skills.

We are proud of the levels of excellence which he, and others in our school community, have achieved. Temple Christian School congratulates him, and wishes him the very best as he continues to thrive in the sport of Track & Field. Go Suns!
